Started as a street stall in 1992, Bee Hwa Cafe is a family-run gem serving halal Malaysian-Chinese fare, now run by the owner alongside her son and daughter. Using chicken and seafood in place of pork, the char kway teow is wok-tossed with minced garlic (not lard) in a secret spicy-sweet soy blend. The hae mee broth, prepared fresh daily, bursts with seafood umami, with a homemade curry paste adding gentle heat.
